He joined, from 1963 till 1975, the Anibal Troilo´s Orchestra as a bandoneon player and arranger.
Since 1980 he is Founder and Leader of The Buenos Aires Tango Orchestra.
In 1989, he appeared in the First Tango Festival of Granada (Spain)
During 1990 he performed with Gary Burton (american vibraphonist) in Buenos Aires.
Together with Horacio Ferrer (argentinian poet) wrote all the numbers of the album "Viva el Tango". They appeared on the stages of Buenos Aires, Montevideo (Uruguay) Amsterdam (Holland) Istanbul and Ankara (Turkey) performing this show.
They also recorded the CD “Tangos en homenaje a Woody Allen” (“Tangos in tribute to Woody Allen”)
He recorded, in 1992, with The Capitol National Orchestra of Toulouse (conducted by Michel Plassón) the CD “Gardel-Tangos” participating as arranger and bandoneon player.

He performed, in 1996, with the Dresden Philharmonic (Germany)
In 1997, january 1st , “The New Year´s Concert” was carried out in Toulouse (France). It was in that opportunity that Garello replaced Michel Plasson as a conductor. He was awarded by Fundación Kónex in 1985 and 2005; and by SADAIC in 1989/1997 when he received the “Big Composer SADAIC Prize”.
Among his outstanding plays as a composer the highlight is: “La Danza del Fueye”, performed by th greatest dancer Jorge Donn, with Maurice Bèjart choreography. This play was also awarded, in 2001, with the National Music Prize.
During 1999 he travelled to France and performed in: Reims, Laon, Nantes, The Municipal Theater of Beauvias and St- Etienne where he presented his newest plays for bandoneon and violoncello ensambles.
In 2000 he wrote his concerto for bandoneon and orchestra. “Tango Lungo”.
In May,2001, he travelled to Paris and performed in the Jean Vilar auditorium of the National Theater du Chaillot.
In 2002, he wrote “Arlequín Porteño”, fantasia for violin and orchestra in three movements.
In 2003 he was designated as “Honorary Citizen from Buenos Aires”. Later on he received the prize: “Trayectoria Artística del Fondo Nacional de las Artes”.
In 2004 he recorded the CD, together with Horacio Ferrer “Diálogos de poeta y bandoneón” (“Conversations between the poet and bandoneón”)
In june of the same year he appeared at the Palazzo Ducale, in Génova `04 (Italy).
In september he conducted the German Orchestra “Sabor a Tango” (“Taste of Tango”) in Berlin (Germany)
In may 2006 he performed at The National Theater Du Chaillot from Paris. In september in the Auditorio Parco Della Musica de Roma. At that moment the DVD “Conversations between the poet and bandoneón” came out to the market.
The same month he recorded along with Anna Saeki the CD “Concierto de Anna” (“Anna`s concerto”).
In 2007, february, he finished to write with Horacio Ferrer the Opera “El rey del tango, en el reino de los sueños” (“Tango`s king, in the kingdom of the dreams”). In may he performed in Brescia (Italy) and in the Art Festival of Hong Kong (China). |
